Contrasting images of silver birch trees in autumn presented as a diptych.  I was drawn to the contrast of the bare tree versus the dense golden foliage of two trees found in close proximity to one another.  Presenting the images side-by-side further emphasised the difference.

A panorama of the silver birch woodland at Holme Fen, Cambridgeshire; the largest silver birch woodland in lowland Britain. It was a beautifully misty autumnal morning which is perfect for giving a softness to the woodland as it recedes into the distance.
