An infrared image of Hitchin Lavender, Cadwell Farm, Ickleford, Hertfordshire. It may seem strange to shoot lavender, something so renowned for its colour, in black and white but infrared photography can give striking, high contrast images that give a fresh twist on an often-shot view.
This was taken using a Hoya R72 infrared filter. I’ve written a couple of blog posts on how to take and process infrared landscape images like this.
